Getting There
Kruger National Park is a well-connected location situated near several airports with a variety of accommodation available both within and outside of the park to cater to a range of budgets.

Arriving at Skukuza Rest Camp
For international visitors, the easiest way to reach Skukuza Rest Camp in Kruger National Park is to fly into O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and then take a short domestic flight to either Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport near Mbombela (formerly Nelspruit) or directly to Skukuza Airport, which is located inside the park just minutes from the camp.
Option 1)
Arrive at Johannesburg OR Tambo
Those who prefer not to fly domestically can drive from Johannesburg in about 5–6 hours on well-maintained highways, though this option requires confidence with long-distance driving on the left-hand side of the road
Option 2)
Arrive at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport near Mbombela (formerly Nelspruit)
From Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, visitors can rent a car for a scenic 1.5–2 hour drive to the park gates or arrange a private shuttle transfer. .
Option 3)
Fly directly to Skukuza Airport, which is located inside the park just minutes from the camp
Organized safari transfers and tour operators also offer door-to-door transport from major hotels or airports, making access straightforward even for first-time visitors to South Africa
Please Note; Park Gates close at 5pm in Summer Months with no entry by car allowed after this time.
Accomodation
We strongly reccommend arranging accomodation within the rest camp to fully enjoy the evening activities and ambiance of bush.
there is a wide range of accomodation to suit every budget. there are also student forums to encourage accomodation sharing for students and single delegates.

HOTEL
In addition to the traditional camp accommodation, Skukuza also has a full-service hotel: the Skukuza Safari Lodge. This is the most modern and comfortable option in the camp and feels more like a conventional safari hotel than typical Kruger self-catering units.
RONDEWALS (bungalows)
These are the classic Kruger units and ideal for couples or small families. Bungalows typically have one bedroom with 2–3 beds, an en-suite bathroom, and either a private kitchenette or access to a communal kitchen. Some units are air-conditioned, and premium versions offer river views
Guest Cottages/houses
Larger self-catering units designed for families or small groups, usually sleeping 4–6 people. They include multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, a full kitchen, and living areas. Houses are typically larger and Ideal for big groups, these spacious houses can accommodate 8–12 guests.
Safari Tents
A budget-friendly, semi-rustic experience. Raised on wooden platforms, these furnished tents include beds, basic furniture, and electricity but rely on communal kitchens and ablution blocks.
