1. What is the best way to get to Kruger National Park?
Most international visitors fly into O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, then take a domestic flight to Skukuza Airport (inside the park) or Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, followed by a transfer or rental car. See Travel and Logistics page for more information.

2. What will the weather be like in November?

November is early summer in the park—hot, humid, and often stormy, with lush vegetation and active wildlife. Pack for intense sun, sudden rain, and warm evenings

3. Do I need to book accommodation in advance?
Yes. Popular camps, such as Skukuza Rest Camp, often sell out months in advance. Booking through SANParks is recommended as early as possible.

4. Is malaria a concern?
Kruger lies in a malaria-risk area. Consult your doctor before travel about prophylaxis, and use insect repellent, long sleeves at night, and mosquito nets where provided.

5. Can I drive myself in the park?
Yes. Kruger is one of the best self-drive safari destinations in the world, with well-maintained roads, clear signage, and rest camps spaced throughout the park. however there will be game drives available to book onto throughout the conference.

7. Are there guided safaris available?
Yes. Guided game drives and bush walks are offered by SANparks and will be available to book on arrival at the Conference.

8. What should I pack?
Neutral-colored clothing, a hat, sunscreen, binoculars, camera, reusable water bottle, and warm layers for early morning drives are essential.

9. Is it safe to walk around?
Within fenced rest camps it is generally safe, but wildlife can still occur. Outside designated areas, walking is prohibited unless on an official guided activity.

10. What facilities are there at Skukuza? 

Skukuza is one of the largest rest camps and has a petrol station, post office, several restaurants, a spa,  a shop and even a 360 degree cinema. 
Most camps, shops, and restaurants will accept major credit cards, but carrying some South African rand is useful for small purchases or tips.
